Memberships

Vårlys 2025 has four different membership types. This is where you find information about all four, and a FAQ regarding memberships, transfers and participating with children.

Why memberships?

Frostlys is a non-profit organization. No individuals, including artists, performers, volunteers, and organizers, receive any form of payment or free membership.

The events are solely funded by membership sales, which cover all necessary event expenses. All remaining revenue is put directly into Dream Fund - which are grants for art, projects, activities and performers. All members can apply for a dream grant within the application period.

The event and all its content, both practical and enjoyable, is planned, created and executed by its members.

General Membership

The general memberships are sold on a first come, first served basis. They are on sale until midnight 28. April in accordance to the Dream Grant deadlines.

  • Shortly after sales start, the Dream Grant Platform opens. This is where you can apply for Dream Grants for content and contributions you want to bring, but can’t due to lack of resources.

  • When you purchase your membership, you will have access to apply for placement of your theme camp, art, activities and other projects.

Snail Sale Membership

Did you know snails are a natural fertilizer and also help maintain ecosystems for other animals?

After the deadlines for Dream Grants, roughly three weeks before the event, the Snail Sale replaces the General Memberships.

  • You get a membership, similar to all other memberships. Nothing more.

    This membership type does not come with any additional benefits to you as a membership holder.

    You’re just fashionably late.

VIP membership

VIP stands for Voluntary Inflated Price. If you find yourself in a comfortable financial position this year, consider contributing further to the event by purchasing a VIP membership.

The proceeds from these memberships go to the Dream Fund, other LYS-community projects as well as subsidising memberships for others who have less, enabling them to attend also.

  • You get a membership, similar to all other memberships. Nothing more.

    This membership type does not come with any additional benefits to you as a membership holder.

    But, you help the organization and the participants create an ever better, bigger event.

Low income membership

The Low income membership program is set up to make the event accessible for those who can’t afford the full membership price. The low income memberships are subsidised by the community and are limited.

  • Individuals with low income, single parents, students and others who can only participate at a reduced cost might be eligible for a low income membership.

  • If approved, you will receive an email with a purchase link. This email will state how long the link is active. If you have not purchased within the given deadline, you are not guaranteed a low income membership, as these can have been given to other applicants.

    The application form will close one month before the event or as soon as we have reached maximum capacity of applicants and/or the event is sold out, whichever comes first.

  • Low Income Memberships cannot be resold or transferred. Please email us at contact@frostlys.no if you have questions.

FAQ

  • All memberships are non refundable. Besides Low Income Memberships, most can be transferred to someone else. See transfers below.

  • You can transfer your membership to another person. Either by selling it or gifting it.

    One way to find buyers is to post on the facebook event.

  • Children up to the age of 6 can participate at Lys events. Due to safety at our location older, less dependent children cannot join - but we hope to make this possible in the future.

    Children do not need a membership, but we need to know they are coming! Please inform us by email: contact@frostlys.no.
